Do you know why your vehicles(s) would be covered by a flood; but not your home? Or why your vehicle(s) would be covered by water damage and not (possibly) your home !?
You might not need flood coverage on your home but why you better have “water damage” on your home!!!
Who says insurance can’t be fun!?….LOL!

“Water”…The Sublime, The Ridiculous, The Reality, The Opportunity
The Sublime!
Did you know that that approximately 6,000 years ago, the earth was nothing more than water before Yeshua [Jesus] began fashioning the planet as we know it [Genesis 1:2 & Col 1:16]? The Hebrew word for water is actually “mayim”. Conversely, the first and second heavens [atmospheric and celestial, respectively] were also made out of water. Although we can not be sure what form the water was in [vapor, liquid or solid], we do nonetheless know this to be true because the Hebrew word in the Torah calls the atmosphere “Sha-mayim!”
In the Brit Chadesha [New Testament] the term “water of Life” (Greek: ὕδωρ ζωῆς hydōr zōēs) is used in the context of living water, specific references appearing in the Book of Revelation (21:6 and 22:1), as well as the Gospel of John. In these references, the term Water of Life refers to the Ruach Ha Kodesh [Holy Spirit].
The Ridiculous!
Water couldn’t help but trickle into my head this morning as I was pondering a heart-wrenching plea from Jay Sekulow [ACLJ] on behalf of a Pakistani, Christian mother of 5. Her crime!? Arrested by the Muslim authority of her country for offering a fellow Pakastani [Muslim] a glass of water! The nerve of her [a Christian] for being so kind to another human being [In this case; a Muslim]!
The Reality!
I was also thinking about water in a different context the past few months: Specifically, the flood-waters that resulted from Hurricanes Harvey and Irma and the devastating effects these
massive storms had on Texas and Florida! In the insurance industry we are just beginning to see the effects these two hellacious storms have had on insurance property rates [home, auto and commercial property]! We are noticing sizable premium increases throughout Texas as a result. Here’s a small snippet of facts that explain the damage as well as an explanation as to why insurance rates are rising throughout the industry and across Texas:
- 1 Million Cars Damaged
- Estimates of Damage to Property from Harvey [Homes & Autos]…….$65 Billion to $190 Billion
- Estimates of Irma’s Damage between $50 Billion and $100 Billion
[Cox Automotive estimates that Harvey and Irma destroyed more vehicles than Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and Hurricane Sandy in 2012, which claimed 200,000 and 250,000 respectively!] While much of the recovery expenses will go to property damage, the extensive flooding during Harvey means that vehicle losses will also be extremely costly, especially considering that Houston and many areas of Texas have a higher car ownership rate than the national average.
In light of the above, what’s a wise steward to do!? In short, we know that the law of large numbers drives the insurance formula for consumers sharing the cost of others less fortunate. Having your insurance program with an independent adviser such as Christian Insurance Services assures you that your specific insurance program will always be competitive comparative to the general markets in Texas. The wonderfully capable CSR’s and back-office support team at BDI are constantly vigilant as to ensure that our clients are with the right carrier and at the right price [of course, we will never sacrifice coverage quality at the expense of getting a client a cheaper rate nor move a client from one carrier to another without matching or bettering proper coverage and protection quality]!
Did you know that most Texans caught up in the T.V. insurance advertisement [“consumer”] wars, are clueless to what’s in their homeowners policy!? Many Americans believe that every carrier offers the same protection and the only thing that differs is price. Unfortunately, many consumers have no idea if their homeowners’ policy covers hidden water seepage/damage or even water back-up from sewer lines and septic tanks. Most don’t even know if their homeowners’ policy is an open-peril policy or if they have replacement settlement protection!
Perhaps you have trusted Christian Insurance Services with other insurance solutions but do not yet have your home covered by an A.M. Best, A Rated insurance carrier through Christian Insurance Services. Remember that your home is typically your biggest asset: Maybe it is time for a complimentary review of your policy? About Thriving Tribes
Everything they do is adapted to work in the culture of the Peruvian community in need. Their goal is not to change their culture but to give people the resources to live healthier lives within their cultural context.
